My longer-term plan for this trip is an extended stay at Monemvasia. Monemvasia is a massif island just off the eastern coast of the Malea peninsula in the Peloponnese. Atop its plateau are the ruins of a Byzantine fortress city, and the lower town is a still-inhabited Byzantine fortress city!
