Day 64 - 21 September 2009

Today I visited the ancient site of Messini. It had the typical accoutrements of the ruins of an ancient city, BUT: it had some extremely cool fortifications too. In the ancient days, when Sparta attacked Messini, they could not get past these walls and had to go asking the Athenians for help.
